Small Business Blog of the Day: Northfield Construction
by Brian Brown (follow me on Twitter): March 10, 2006I did a little Googling this morning to see if I could quickly find a construction blog, and it didn't take long to discover Northfield Construction Company, Inc. The NCC weblog is a perfect Small Business blog. New posts appear several times a week, the blog incorporates many photos, and it has a very low-tech feel that makes it personable and charming.
What it is
Northfield Construction builds residential and commercial buildings from their location in Northfield, Minnesota.
Features
Lots of pictures of projects during construction.

This post is a great example of how business can use blogs to educate their customers about what their business is about. While most of the posts on the blog show buildings or talk about projects the company is working on, this particular post shares the owner's experience at a chamber of commerce event. We get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the several things a business owner is constantly doing to build relationships. Pictures of others at the event show that Ray Cox (owner and author of the blog) is interested in the people in his community.

I am trying to convince my company (i.e. CEO) to consider blogging. We are a manufacturer of construction chemicals. I had heard of the Northfield Blog some time ago at a Blog Conference. It is a great example. Any other construction Industry examples I could use?
